Kayla Hobson
Kayla Hobson is a Freight Dispatcher Trainer and author from Detroit, Michigan. She studied Psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy and previously worked as a Market Research Analyst before launching her first freight dispatching business as a solopreneur. Although that initial venture didn’t succeed, Kayla chose to learn from her mistakes rather than quit. Her persistence paid off, leading to consistent income and a renewed passion for helping others succeed in the industry.
Her debut book, Freight Dispatcher Training, breaks down the lessons she learned the hard way, helping readers avoid costly errors and build a profitable dispatching business from home. Today, Kayla lives with her husband and three children, enjoys football and art, and is driven by a mission to help others achieve financial freedom.

Hank Steelman
Hank Steelman is a hot shot operator, fleet owner, and 25-year veteran of the trucking and oilfield industries. He runs Steelman Transport out of east Texas, hauling oilfield equipment, steel, and heavy-haul freight for direct shippers across Texas and Oklahoma.
His first run at hot shot ended exactly the way he tells you not to do it in this book. The second attempt stuck. He calls his operation “boringly reliable,” which in hot shot is the highest compliment anyone’s going to pay you.
His wife runs the books, his oldest son drives for the company, and the plan is for the kid to buy in eventually. That’s the kind of business Hank wanted to build — one you can hand to your family instead of selling off to pay your bills.
In his spare time, you’ll find him wrenching on equipment, watching college football, and arguing with his wife about which dog gets to ride in the truck.
